Basic Info
Name:Siegfried von Schroider (OU)
Bio
Character: Siegfried von Schroider
Series/Fandom: Yuugiou
Original or Alternate: Original

Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Sexuality: Bisexual

Appearance:
Siegfried is rather striking in appearance, simply because he works to cultivate a striking appearance. Many would consider Siegfried quite feminine in appearance. Though one should never judge this apparent pampered prince by appearance alone.

Siegfried is tall and lean, but well-muscled. Though he could easily be taken for soft at first glance, he is rather like velvet over steel - softness and strength in one pretty package. One should never underestimate such a pretty face.

Siegfried's face is all hard lines and angles, with chilly turquoise eyes. It's the face of one who constantly calculates his next move. There is little softness here, except when Siegfried turns on the charm.

Siegfried's pride and joy would most likely be his hair. It is pink and grown down nearly to his waist. And woe be to the strand that dares to come out of place!

Personality:
Beside the word "vanity" in the dictionary is a picture of Siegfried. He could spend hours on perfecting his appearance each day. No day is worth facing until he looks his best.

Siegfried is also more than a little pampered. He lives in a castle in the middle of a German forest, where he is waited on hand and foot. Manual labor is almost a foreign phrase to Siegfried.

That's not to say that Siegfried is a stranger to hard work. It's simply that the hard work he engages in tests his mental mettle more than his physical. He's a well-educated fellow, and puts that education to good use as both a businessman and computer hacker.

Abilities/Strengths:
Siegfried is a master duelist of the Duel Monsters card game variety. He has a keen mind for strategy. His cunning lends itself well to both duels and business. He plots things out so that even when one thinks that he's lost, Siegfried still has another card to play, so to speak. In the Kaiba Corp Grand Prix tourmanment, when Siegfried loses to Kaiba Seto, everyone naturally believes the bad guy is stopped and the tournament will continue without interruption. However, as it turns out, that's just what Siegfried wanted everyone to think. Instead, Siegfried's little brother became his next pawn in Siegfried's plan to take over Kaiba Corp when Siegfried gave him an illegal card to use in the duel against Yuugi.

Siegfried is also a master computer hacker, even being capable of breaking into the dueling system to make illegal cards playable. "The Golden Castle of Stromberg" was never meant to be a playable card, but Siegfried hacked into Kaiba's dueling system - one of the most well-protected computer systems on the planet - and arranged it so that the card could be used. Otherwise, the card limiter on the duel disk would not have been capable of reading the card and nothing would have happened when it was played.

Only Kaiba Seto has proven to be Siegfried's superior in dueling, computers, and business. However, Siegfried's tenaciousness (though some might call it obsessiveness) will not let him take second fiddle to anyone. It's his goal to do what it takes to be the best, even if he has to lie and cheat to get there.

Weaknesses:
Siegfried is an ordinary human man. He's had many advantages growing up - wealth, a first-rate education, and control of one of the most powerful gaming companies in the world. But in some ways, this is almost mundane.

Siegfried has no magical powers to help him along. His analytical mind wouldn't let him even acknowledge the possibility of magic without proof. Like Kaiba Seto, Siegfried is the sort who believes the evidence of his senses.

Also, Siegfried is quite vain. He won't engage in physical labor if he can avoid it. Most chores he will consider beneath him and expect someone else to take care of it. Siegfried is from the sort of pampered lifestyle where he's been waited on hand and foot since birth. All his life, his every whim has been catered to, and he sees no reason why that should change.

His greatest weakness, however, would be his pride. Siegfried wants to be the greatest at everything he turns his hand to. One need only say, "Kaiba could do it better," to push Siegfried into all manner of foolishness. Siegfried's family has been in competition with the Kaiba's since he was a boy. Trying to come out ahead of the Kaiba's drove Siegfried's father insane, yet Siegfried still carries that same familial grudge forward.

Notable Possessions:
A Valkyrie-themed Duel Monsters deck and a duel disk

History:
Siegfried was a child prodigy, although he didn't get much of a childhood. Recognizing his intelligence, his family made sure it was only the best for Siegfried. The best education, that is. His life was non-stop tutors preparing him for adulthood. Opportunities to be a child were few and far between.

Siegfried is the CEO of Schroider Corp - a rival company to Kaiba Corp. He took over Schroider Corp at about the same time that Kaiba took over Kaiba Corp. Both companies were converted to gaming companies at the same time, and both worked to develop holographic dueling technologies. However, it was Kaiba Corp that reached Pegasus first with the technology.

After that, Siegfried was consumed with a desire for revenge.

Along comes the Kaiba Corp Grand Prix - a Duel Monsters tournament thrown by, rather obviously, Kaiba Seto. Siegfried and his younger brother enter under false names. After several rounds in the tournament, Kaiba recognizes Siegfried and challenges him to a duel. Siegfried loses.

However, Siegfried's little brother goes on to face Yuugi in the finals. It is in this round that Siegfried's plan nearly comes to completion as Leon plays an illegal card. The card was designed to be unbeatable, and when it was played, it unleashed a virus upon Kaiba Corp's system. However, the Kaiba brothers managed to contain the virus, and Yuugi manages to win out in the face of the supposedly unbeatable card.

By the end of the duel, Siegfried apparently has a change of heart, and has abandoned his plans to destroy Kaiba Corp through underhanded means.
